Privacy Policy

This policy explains what RankMyQuote (“we”, an Uncommon Holdings company) collects when you use RankMyQuote.com and what we do with it. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

What you give us when you send a quote:

• Your name and email, and your phone number if you choose to add it.
• The project ZIP code, project type and quote amount.
• The files you upload (your contractor’s quote and any photos), plus any specs or notes.

What we collect automatically:

• With each submission, we store your browser type and your approximate country.
• Your IP address is used for our spam check and to limit repeated submissions. For that limit we keep only a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, and it expires after about an hour.
• Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) handles standard request data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect the site.

How we use it

• To review your quote and produce your report (market percentile and Trust Score).
• To find comparable bids from local contractors.
• To contact you about your report and any better quote we find.
• To keep the site secure and free of spam.

Who we share it with

• Local contractors: we may share your project scope, specs and photos so they can bid on the same work. We don’t include your name, email, phone number or address.
• North Bay Build Advisory: for larger projects in Marin or Sonoma counties (about $75,000 and up), we may offer you North Bay Build Advisory’s concierge service. We share your details with them only if you agree or ask us to.
• Service providers that run the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, file storage and spam protection) and Google Workspace (our email).
• When the law requires it.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Cookies and tracking

We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. To block spam, the upload form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automated activity. Cloudflare’s handling of that data is described in its privacy policy.

Storage, security and how long we keep it

• Your submission and files are stored with Cloudflare. Access is limited to the RankMyQuote team.
• We keep submissions for up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices and California privacy rights

If you’re a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information we have about you and how we use it.
• Delete your personal information.
• Correct information that’s wrong.
• Not be treated differently for using these rights.

We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of. Anyone can ask us to see, fix or delete their information. Email [email protected] from the address you used. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act.

Children

RankMyQuote is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
