Terms of Service
Last updated: October 24, 2026
These terms cover your use of RankMyQuote.com. By using the site or sending us a quote, you agree to them. “We” and “us” means RankMyQuote, an Uncommon Holdings company. Questions: [email protected].
What RankMyQuote is
RankMyQuote is a rating and information service for homeowners. We tell you how a contractor’s quote compares with other local bids for the same work. We are not a contractor, we don’t do or manage construction work, and we are not a contractor referral service.
How it works
- You upload a contractor’s quote, plus any specs and photos. This is free.
- We gather bids from local contractors for the same scope of work.
- In about 3–5 days, we send you your quote’s market percentile (where its price ranks among the bids we collected) and a Trust Score for the contractors.
The Trust Score blends factors such as licensing, insurance, years in business and ratings. We don’t reveal the other contractors’ names or their exact ratings unless you unlock a bid.
We rank quotes of $1,500 and up. Timing can vary, and we may not be able to collect enough bids for every project.
What it costs
- Free to upload a quote and get your ranking.
- If we find a lower-priced bid for the same scope from a contractor with an equal or higher Trust Score, you can choose to unlock it. The fee is 25% of the verified savings: the difference between your quote and the lower bid. You keep the other 75%.
- $0 if we don’t find a better quote.
- You never have to unlock anything. We’ll show you the exact fee before you pay.
- This is launch pricing and may change. A change won’t affect an unlock you’ve already agreed to.
Only homeowners pay us. We never take referral fees or other payments from contractors.
No guarantees
- Rankings, Trust Scores and savings estimates are information to help you decide. They are not advice, an inspection, an appraisal, or a promise.
- They are based on the bids we collect and on public and third-party information, which can be incomplete or out of date.
- We don’t guarantee any savings, the quality of any work, or that any contractor will be available or will honor a bid.
Contractors are independent
Contractors are independent businesses. They don’t work for us, and we don’t supervise their work. If you hire one, you contract with them directly, and the agreement is between you and them. Before you hire anyone, check their license yourself. In California, you can look up any contractor at the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
What you agree to
- The information you send is accurate, and you have the right to share the quote, specs and photos.
- We may share your project scope, specs and photos with local contractors to collect comparison bids. We don’t share your name, email, phone number or address with them.
- You won’t misuse the site, for example by sending spam, automated submissions or harmful files.
